Fax Machine – An Overview

Fax machines are plenty now and different companies offering ones with different
amenities. It should have a certain amount of memory, so that it will not run
out of paper before receiving a critical fax transmission. For 30 faxed pages
a day, the machine requires 60 pages. They are necessary for the business as it
combines a low-resolution image scanner with a printer.

A variety of fax machines are available in the UK market. Laser fax machines are
quite costly, but give a sharp printout. The thermal faxes use plain paper instead
of the costlier thermal paper, but the fax will not be light fast or crisp. Inkjet
ones are a medium. Thermal fax machine that uses the heat-sensitive paper are
fast disappearing from the market. The upscale fax machines integrate an inkjet
or laser printer engine to give brilliant quality output.

The more expensive a fax machine is the speedier it will be, however for the common
man, a slow fax machine is recommended to save money. A multifunction machine
is recommended that has additional features like computer printing that a standalone
fax machine cannot.

Deciding on whether a fax machine is required to receive faxes, send faxes or
combine both determines the type to be purchased. To send faxes, an inexpensive
model that uses the thermal paper or thermal film paper to transfer can be opted
for. One with one-touch dialling feature and broadcasting can be opted for to
receive faxes. A model that has high paper tray-capacity or an inkjet or laser
printing technology is recommended to provide the best quality. A high memory
capacity is noteworthy so as to allow the machine to store incoming faxes even
if a paper-jam takes place or the machine is in short of ink. A higher transmission
speed is imperative when you send and receive a large number of faxes leading
to a lesser long distance telephone charges.

The glossaries of fax machines are:
